what should i try out for ? 8th grade football?
Hi, i am 13 years old going into 8th grade and VERY confused …. k so last year i made C team wich i shouldnt have cuz im not bad at ALL but the coaches didnt really notice me that well and i didnt get the best of grades .. anyways that whole year i stuck with wide receiver and twards the end of the year the coaches started to kinda notice me and during the summer i waas inn a seven on seven league and the coaches saw me score a touchdown and and extra point and some receptions i saw them staring right at me but last year as a C team wide receiver i was bored as hell cuz the quarter back cant throw at all and he never even threw me a pass in a game to me he only made like 4 short pass receptions all year anyways we ran it alot and i know if i was a running back i would completly dominate and wouldnt care about being on C team cuz i know i would destroy but if i stick with reciever would i have a better chance for B team ? i am 5,4 right now 124 pounds and have a 22 and a half inch verticle and am not lightning fast but definatly one of the fastest on the field please !! help im so confused i was certain during the season running back would be the choice but i just dont know HELP !! :b O! and at the end of the 7th grade i could bench 105 i have been working out ALOT and i have no idea what i max bench now
i lifted weights in the middle school weight room and during this summer at performace course training and at 24 hour fitness

Where did you lift weights, in the middle school weight room?

sounds like you could try out for RB mostly, but you might want you coach to check your 40 yard dash time, but if your gonna be a RB you need to focus on speed and quickness, ask your coach he will tell you there is a big difference between speed and quickness.

from experience, middle school football is ALL ABOUT IMPRESSIONS. Tell the coach when he needs someone to play a position that you will play that position. Be willing to do ANYTHING the coaches ask you to do. THAT will impress them. Dont be afraid to talk to coaches about giving you a chance they like confident kids.

Well im kinda in the same position as you man im only 5’5" and im 16 in the 11th grade im a Halfback and a kick off returner for varsity but you can try out for both and see witch one is better for you but Running back is a really fun position.

Well first 8th grade football isn’t something you should take seriously. Even if your on a C or A team. However, it will help you develop later. Don’t think of the "now" think of the later. Try out for as many positions as you can. I was WR, TE, KR, CB through Youth and High School football. In my Sophomore year I became a QB and stuck with it. My experience in those positions really help me develop the understanding of the game. The more you are experienced the better. Wait until about your sophomore, junior year to choose a position you want. Besides most Scouts pay attention to senior and junior classes.

you should try for running back but if it doesnt work out go back to reciever.
